Here is a list of moving examples that our clients have shared with us. First print out this page. Then write the word change or transition on the appropriate lines.

Remember that a change represents the event of doing something differently. Your transition is how you feel about the change. Transitions are personal in nature. Underline the emotion words or words that imply strong feelings. Feelings and emotions are important clues that an example is a transition one.

change    1.  We moved from a 4-bedroom house to a 2-bedroom townhouse.

transition 2.  The views from my new study are gorgeous. I enjoy having my own space to work on bills and to read the mail.

transition 3.  I feel very fortunate to have found a home in such a quiet neighborhood. I'm grateful we finally made this move.

change    4.  We are about 50% packed up.

transition 5.  I must admit that I'm unhappy about my husband's transfer. I find the idea of moving away to be unpleasant and painful.

change    6.  Our new home has a pool, a pond and a fountain.

transition 7.  Our real estate agent smoothed out all our worries we had about this relocation. She really cares about how we are adjusting to our new place.
